The Modern Sales Strategy — Sell Your Soul, Close the Deal?
I've spent years building and selling products:
- In big tech.
- For my own startup.
- And now, as a creator.
But never once did I sell my self-respect to close a deal.
Yet that seems to be the playbook today:
Push harder. Don’t take no. Close at any cost, even if it costs you your ethics.
Since I started sharing my work on X a little over 100 days ago,
I’ve seen a trend that’s hard to ignore:
Business owners pitching offers to strangers…
without understanding their problems, context, or whether they’re even the right fit.
Worse?
You buy one thing,
and before you see results,
they’re already pushing the next thing.
No follow-up.
No plan of action.
No clarity on what they delivered the first time.
Just:
“Hey, I’ve got this next offer. You should get it too.”
Now tell me,
Who in their right mind would invest again before even seeing ROI from the first buy-in?
This isn’t selling.
This is emotional coercion dressed in sales copy.
Make you feel guilty.
Make you second-guess yourself.
Blame the price.
Blame your mindset.
But never once take responsibility for the value they didn’t deliver.
Here’s the thing I’ve learned:
If your product is good, it doesn’t need a circus.
It just needs clarity, care, and consistency.
If someone trusted you once,
respect that.
Don’t shove another offer.
Show them the results.
Show them that their trust was worth it.
I’m not selling anything yet.
But I’m building my first offer now - carefully, intentionally.
Because when I do?
I want to build something that makes people proud that they said yes.
Not manipulated.
Not emotionally cornered.
Just… aligned.
Sales done right isn’t about pressure.
It’s about partnership.
Mindsemble isn’t a place to sell dreams.
